Seriously after reading all these reviews I think people don't know what they're talking about. I love this place! They have a great ambiance and the food is always consistently great! The prices are reasonable and the staff is always friendly. My family and I visit it frequently.

We were seated right away- not a busy night. We were given a menu, then we waited, and waited. After 10 minutes of waiting, my husband went to the front to tell the hostess that we've been waiting for a long time. At the same time our server finally came and asked how long we were waiting, "couple of minute? " I said "no, 10 minutes and we're about to leave." She apologized and apparently she didn't know that we were there. Meanwhile, the kids are getting impatient. Mind you, this was my son's birthday, and he wanted to go to either Chili's or Outback, but we wanted to try this steak house. She took our order and the food was served without a long wait. But the food!!! My kids said they had better steak before. It was dry and blah, in my opinion. I guess you get what you paid for. I had better steak at Denny's. That was our first and last meal at RJ's, never again! PS the waitress didn't charge us for the drinks because of the wait. But I don't ming paying more for good food and good service.

We enjoyed our meal here. It is not pricey for a steakhouse. Nice place to take the family. Decent servings. The service was great. The place was decorated nicely and it's clean. Overall a pleasant experience! I would return.

How do I say this and not sound rude... why are they still in business?! I don't want to be rude at all, but I have to call it like I see it. List of issues. We have eaten here a few time all have been sad and frustrating experience because you expect change when you complain. Had to get our own lemon and place settings, had to roam around to locate our server, had to get clean glasses and refill our water. Close out our tab at the bar becasue they added strangers drinks to it. Over charged our card and had to have money sent back to us-- no we did not leave a $40.00 tip! with that said the steak was burnt, the salad was borwn and moldy green looking, tomatos were dry on the edges. And that was just the first trip. So you see I dont need to go into the next 2 trips we tried them again, but alas we will not be back. Sorry but for the over priced cuts of beef there are far better places to go....

The new restaurant is beautiful. Now that this location has been open for awhile the food is amazing and the service is great. No matter how busy this restaurant seems you never have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated and you are promptly served beverages. Although I usually order the same thing each time I am in the menu gives alot of choices from fish, steak, chicken. The potato skins are to die for!!! Give this location a try and you won't be sorry.

We found RJ's just after they opened. We have never been to the Temecula location. Both my husband and I are from BEEF country and after moving here found it hard to find a GREAT steak due to all of the standard "chain" steak houses tasted all the same. We had basically given up. Then we found RJ's..... Our first experience was not the best but we tagged it up to the facility being new. We tried again and it is now our favorite place to eat!!! We do perfer the bar to the mess hall. We can get seated fast in the bar and watch a game by the fire. We have NEVER had a long wait for our food. Prices are great and you get a GREAT steak!!!All of our servers have been wonderful and the manager/owner (I think) makes rounds and will frequently stop by tables to make sure all is well with his patrons. I think that this is a family owned business and we like to support those types of businesses.

Expected a fine dining experience. Was more family oriented which is great, but the food was below par. Side dishes were cafeteria quality and the steak could have been purchased at Food 4 Less. I liked the friendly atmosphere, but they need to spend more on the food. I would pay more if the food was worth it. I rate it 2 stars.

What a great mid priced restaurant.
The food is good, not exceptional, but I personally don't have to have an exceptional meal each time I go out. Sometimes its fine to have a good meal for a good price.
The decorating is the nicest I have seen in a restaurant and the fire place makes it warm and inviting.
Its always busy and seems to appeal to all types of people, young families, older folks and the singles in the bar.
They have some down home type meals like fried chicken, chicken fried steak and pork chops, but they also have filet mignon in bacon and shrimp cocktail. Something for everyohe.

I work near this restaurant so its convenient for me. Sometimes lunch service can be a little slow.
Its consistently decent food, better than Chili's for sure and for about the same price.
I like the interior of the restaurant, they've obviously spent a lot of money on the new place...the old one was very tired.
I can recommend it for a good lunch.

This is a good place to sit in the bar and have a full meal while watching sports.
They also have tv's on the patio.

I like this restaurant better now that it moved to its new building.
At first they wait was way too long, but now that they've been open for 6 months, I find that I am seated quickly.
The food is a little more expensive than the old location, but you are not only paying for the food here, you are paying for the great ambience.
The decorator did an amazing job. The lighting is good, its dim but still open and airy. The art and the rustic cowboy knick knacks are great. There is lots of greenery too.
The service is a little off and on. Some of the servers just seem too young and need better training.
The bar staff during the day is great, but there is a bar manager that sends off a really unwelcoming feeling. It seems he might not like his job enough to be friendly to the guests, which is not what you expect from a bar tender.
If he wasn't there, I'd most likely hang out in the bar more for happy hour because its a fun small place with a fireplace and three tvs.
Overall I recommend it. Its the best place I can think of to go in Murrieta.

I had only been to the old location on Jefferson prior to yesterday's lunch adventure. The dark, ancient and dinky restaurant has given way to a nice, new, airy and well lit establishment. Ambience: Check.
The grub is what brings you back and the 'spunkmeister' has not lost his touch. The salad was good, the steak was up to it's usual standards and the drinks were free flowing! Eats: Check
The hot wings kicked my butt yesterday and again this morning. Honey, pass the Tucks! RingSting: Check.
Will definitely be back. Repeat Business: Check

In the spirit of NOT piling on, I"ll post some very positive comments from my recent visit to the "Steer". This was my 3rd time at the new location and I must admit, the open ceiling and abundance of natural light is a very welcome change from the "Beef Cave" that was the old location. I arrived at noon on a Wednesday and was promptly seated. I was approached quickly by my server, Kristi, and we placed an order for the Buffalo Wings. Wow! If you like spicy, these are for you. Too many places wimp out on the spice for buffalo wings, but not the "Steer". The wings came out promptly and we enjoyed them along with the salad prior to our meal. I won't speak for my fellow diner, but I ordered a rather simple dish, the Hamburger Steak with Grilled Onions. This reviewer is trying to "lose a few" and the low carb route has been good to me in the past. The "Steer" is certainly accommodating to those who want beef and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. We placed an order 'to go' which was also promptly delivered and left feeling very positive about returning again.
I've had the Chicken Meal many times and consider it one of the best restaurant bargains around. The onion rings are excellent and the Steerburger is a must-try. Sorry to hear a few of you have had poor experiences. Mine was top notch and I'll gladly return....hopefully with less of a wait if the last 4 reviewers choose to go somewhere else.

We loved the Murrieta location the first time we tried it, but ever since (three trips) it has taken a minimum of an hour to get our food, and that's for sandwhiches. It has become a running joke between my wife and I how many times our waitress will tell us (or a table seated next to us) that the kitchen is "backed up" or "slow" - after our last experience with marginal food and an hour wait, we won't be going back.

The worst experance of my LIFE.The maneger was very unprofessional and question my under cooked steak. The manager implied that I was asking for a free meal... After discussing the issue with the raw steak I was asked to leave the reaturant immediately... I will never return or recommend this reaturant to anyone:-(

I've been here twice and I won't be back. The interior is horrible, feels like a run down Denny's. The last time I ate there the food was severely under cooked. Service is rather poor and un-professional.

Used to be real good. They let teenagers and 3rd worlders take the restaurant over. No dress code for employees apparently. The host usually has nose rings and pants falling off their arse. We used to hit this place up once a week but had 3 or 4 bad experiences in a row. Namely the Stockyard Steak tasting like a baseball glove. Might check out their spot in murrieta when it opens but I will never go back to the Temecula location.

RJ's has quickly become my favorite steak house. The top sirloin and rib eye steaks are wonderful. They are moving to a new location in Murrieta soon. I wish they would keep the Temecula location open also. The new location will be closer to home, but the current one is closer to the old town gallery. Order your steaks 1 notch below your normal order. Ordering Medium does leave any pink because the plates are sizzlin' hot and keep cooking the meat.

Ok You see my reviews on several places. This one is a jewel. The food is good the prices are great. If you are looking to get a good meal at a casual steak house, this is the place to go. The place could use a re-model, but worth checking out
